Lauren
The Boardwalk seems empty. Lauren came here, because she thought she’d be able to escape the thoughts plaguing her mind tonight. Once upon a time, Valentine’s was a happy day. That time is long gone.
She watches as couples walk by, hand in hand. She wishes she were one of them. She wishes that things were back the way that they once were.
Upstairs in Ben's bedroom, Ben opens the door, and lays Lauren gently down on his bed. He runs to the light switch to dim the light, then makes his way back to Lauren. She stares up into his crystal blue eyes, and desire is quick to overcome them both. As they begin kissing, they are sweet, gentle kisses. Lauren can't help but wonder what she did to deserve such a great guy. Ben can't help but gander at the beauty before him. Positioning themselves comfortable on the bed, Ben and Lauren continue their kissing.
As Ben begins moving his lips from Lauren's, down to her neck, Lauren giggles at the way it tickles just a little bit. Ben finds it adorable.
Ben: And just what are you giggling at? (He asks, smiling down on Lauren.)
Lauren: It tickled. (She smiles back)
Ben: Is that so. Well how's this? (He asks, as he begins kissing Lauren's ear.)
Lauren: It feels good.
Ben: And this? (He asks once again, as he places light kisses upon her arm.)
Lauren: That's nice too. (She says softly.)
As Ben places his hand at the bottom of Lauren's shirt, panic erupts in her mind. She knew what Ben had on his mind. But was she ready for it?
Reaching for Ben's hand, the two begin kissing again. Their hands make their way across one another's bodies.
Ben: I've missed you so much babe.
Lauren: I missed you too Ben.
Ben: I want you Lauren. I love you.
Lauren smiles to herself. It was the first time Ben had ever said those words to her. It was the first time that she actually knew without any doubt, that she felt the same way.
Lauren: I love you too.
An ecstatic Ben smiles.
Ben: I was so nervous about saying it to you. I was afraid you'd think I didn't know what I was talking about or something.
Lauren: Ben, I don't think that for an instant. (She turns away from Ben.)
Ben: What's the matter?
Lauren doesn't say anything.
Ben: Hey Lauren, come on. Did I do something wrong?
Lauren: (She turns back to Ben.) No, you didn't do anything. It's just
Ben: It's just what?
Lauren: I do love you Ben.
Ben: But?
Lauren: But I don't want to sleep with you.
Ben: Ever? (He asks, half joking.)
Lauren: Of course not. (She smiles.) I mean, come on. It's just, I'm not ready. Can you
understand that?
Ben: (Taking Lauren in his arms.) Lauren, I love you. If I had to, I would wait forever for you. I want you to want this as much as I do. I want you to be ready for it.
Lauren: What did I do to deserve such a great guy?
Ben: You know, I ask myself the same thing every day. Not the great guy part of course, but you know what I'm talking about.
They both smile.
Lauren: Some how I had a clue.
Ben: You know, I could lay here like this forever.
Lauren: You know, I think you may be onto something there.
As Lauren finds herself drawn back to the Boardwalk, Ben is the only thing on her mind.
Lauren: I was such a fool (she admits to herself.) I was such a fool to let you get away from me.
As she begins walking along the water, Lauren tries to forget everything about it being Valentine’s. She tries to forget about love, or her loss of it. Lauren tries to think about herself, and for the first time all night, she finds a smile cross her face.
